Okay, I need to ‘fes up here. I didn’t come up with the title of this post. I am borrowing it from John Scalzi’s post a couple weeks ago. It stuck in my head, so when I found myself listening to this song on repeat today, the post readily named itself. (Don’t you wish everything that you wrote was like that?)
Isn’t it catchy? See, I told you that you’d like it. :D
About this writing thing (and ROW80 review… again)
I’ve been reflecting today that writing is sometimes easy as eating chocolate-covered potato chips? What? You have never heard of such delectable diet-torpedoing snacks? Hie thineself to a Trader Joe’s and indulge today! We can worry about walking the weight (and the guilt) off later. ;)
So, about my recent writing. It hasn’t been this blissful, effortless act of creation, but rather more akin to slogging through the spice mines of Kessel. I’ve been digging (and writing) a lot of junk in the pursuit of those few gems that might be worth sharing.
It has made sitting down with pen and paper or staring at my keyboard feel more like work and less like chocolate-covered potato chips. Writing has been fun for the last couple of months, so I guess it was only a matter of time before the honeymoon ended.
I am renewing my 500 words per day writing goals tomorrow!! (I’d do it tonight, but I have to work on an art project with Sweetpea, and I expect that to be the end of my creative efforts. Have you ever handed a preschooler a gluestick? Just don’t let the family pet walk into the room… xD)
More writing and less whining in the future, scout’s honor. :D
