Help, I’m Alive!

You ever finish a huge project or survive a deadline, then have your body remind you that you’re actually human? Once your task has been accomplished, your body asks you, “Hey, remember when you said you didn’t have time to be sick? Well, guess what! Your schedule just opened up for the next week. Looks like we can take the pin out of this illness you were putting off and get back to where we left off…”

Yeah, so that’s where I’ve been, recovering from being done with grad school. I have the degree and the diploma. No more classes. It’s all official now.

And my body told me I needed a vacation.

Heavens forfend, it was terrible!! I’m soooo happy :D to be back on the side of the living, although there were some moments when I wondered if being dead was easier. I’ll blame those thoughts on the fever dreams. ;) (I finally had a chance read a few books that weren’t about innovation or finding operational efficiencies. That was kinda nice.)

So what’s on the agenda for me this week? Well, I’m so glad you asked. :P

1. Finish up the last section of The Foundry Moth short story project. Since it looks like we’ll be doing a monster mashup of options A and B, I’ll get super creative with this. I haven’t killed anyone yet, but I’ll be taking the gloves off for the grande finale. Woo hoo!!

2. Continue editing The Dreamless City, my steampunk urban fantasy novel. I had considered finishing the super rough draft of Book Two, which I started during Camp NaNoWriMo in April, but I think I’m ready to get back into the first book. Rawr!! Let’s see what havoc we can cause by the end of the month. I do want to get this sucker to beta readers sometime soonish.

3. Remind friends and family what I look like. Maybe see a movie too. ;) I thought about catching up on the laundry, but that’s just silliness.

Anyway, I’m glad to be back. I missed you guys, and I can’t wait to get the good times started again!!
